Absolutely the boys had a right to explore whatever musical nuances additions, subtractions they wanted--they are the artists what make that good stuff!...(Keith even 'experimented' with some odd carnival organ type sounds at some shows), but in all, the MIDI sound left me feeling cold.

I loved the sound of Jerry's guitar, and didn't care to hear it sounding like a trumpet, or clarinet, or any other horned also sounded rather cheesy to me, in an overall bad 80's kind of way.

Didn't like Brent's bells and whistles either, when he was so damn good at playing the sweeping, straight-on blues organ type sound to compliment songs like Rooster and Passenger...I like the sound of the band best when they were less reliant on toys and more about straight ahead jamming.

as always--a matter of personal taste.
